Judge Jack White served as Pinellas County judge from 1931 to 1962 before being appointed to the 2nd District Court of Appeals in 1962. He served there until is untimely death in May 1964. Prior to becoming a judge he served in the Florida State Legislature and worked as a local attorney. He was a veteran of the First World War in the US Marine Corps.
Judge White served on many municipal boards and committees and was recognized for his contributions to the development of Pinellas County. His dearest causes were young people and veterans. Notably, he led the initiative to have a community sports stadium built at Clearwater High School which bears his name today.
The Judge came from a large extended family in Jackson, Tennessee. He married Mary Carr Westbrook at Cavalry Baptist Church in 1925 and they raised three sons in Clearwater. He was known for his keen legal insight, kindness, humor, and immense love of life and people.
